    Reversed Handlebar (or Ghetto Bullhorns)

I'm experimenting with different handlebar positions and am intrigued by some of the bullhorn set-ups I have seen in the forum. Since handlebars can be expensive, I wanted to try to simulate the position with what I have on hand. Already, I am enjoying the ergonomics and I think a pursuit...

    Incredibly Stable Recumbents

I was wondering how you were I was wondering how you were handling the weather down there. It sounds like the Silvio was a good choice for riding a debris-riddled path. I recently had to navigate through blockades of tumbleweed and the low speed handling characteristics of the Silvio made it...

    Proof of Upper Body Engagement

I don't think that anyone who rides a Cruzbike needs to be convinced, but after riding my Cruzbike Silvio after an almost five month hiatus, I can testify to the upper body engagement that riding a Cruzbike commands. You know that feeling of the day after lifting weights for the first time...

    Back on the Silvio Again

Before moving to Washington from South Carolina in July of this year, I had to disassemble my Silvio in order to find room for it in the moving van. My intention was to have the tired paint job replaced with a vibrant powdercoat and then rebuild the Silvio as soon as I could. Well...

    My adjustable seat testing

That's a pretty slick hack! I That's a pretty slick hack! I think you're the first to figure out how to make the recline angle adjustable without the use of a shim or wedge. Your CF seat is a very rigid structure whereas the stock seat relies upon the support of the frame for rigidity. Do...

A Silvio of a Different Colour

I planned on revealing my Silvio make-over when it is complete, but I already gave away the colour in my Rusty Bolt thread. Here are some photos of the Silvio as it sits tonight. I'm planning to have decals made in the near future and will hopefully begin sourcing components after Christmas...

    Rusty Bolt Renewal

After about 8 years, the 8 cs-bolts (seatpost binder bolts) on my Cruzbike Silvio were showing their age. An overall dull appearance with spots of rust, and rust within the sockets made these bits look completely out of place. Unfortunately, I have had trouble finding similar replacement bolts...

    Silvio v.2 - Body Filler?

The v.1 Silvio made use of body filler to hide welds and provide seamless transitions between frame members. Does the v.2 have the same treatment? I can't tell from the pictures I've seen, which may be a testament to Cruzbike's weld quality. Thank you.

First Century on My Cruzbike Silvio

I have been riding a Cruzbike Silvio since June 2013 and until this past weekend, my farthest ride of the season has been forty-five miles. However, this ride, known as the Tour De Round-O takes place annually in the tiny town of Round O, South Carolina and offers rides of thirty-five...

Riding my First Century on a Silvio 9/7/13

http://www.tourdroundo.com/ It's supposed to be a flat, fast course according from friends who have ridden it before. As it's not far from Charleston, I imagine it will be flat as a pancake. Now would be a good time to be near a shop that rented Vendettas.

    Amateur Aerodynamics for Silvio

Inspired by Jim Gerwing's thread about his Vendetta and my idle hands, I decided to try my hand at making a disc wheel cover for the Silvio. Made of poster board and duct tape and secured to the rim with vinyl electrical tape, it's a cheap five-dollar experiment. I haven't ridden with it yet...

    I was an Instructional Designer

Until last Friday, I was employed as a contract instructional designer for four-and-a-half years with the same company. Now that I am officially unemployed, I have time to figure out my next career move. I enjoy developing web-based training, but I would be fulfilled if I can apply my talent...

    damaged my boom...help, doug!

I was in the middle of overhauling my Silvio when disaster struck. In removing the sealed BB, it was siezed and wouldt budge. I used a Campagnolo BB tool with a wrench and cheater bar with a good soaking of PB Blaster on the BB. I heard a loud metallic crack and the BB began to unthread. I...

those things don't do hills well

"Those things don't do hills well." A fellow rider made that statement to me on the first Wednesday night shop ride I attended just this past week. The ride used to be part of my routine until last year after becoming too ill to ride. I didn't miss the ride like I thought I would, but since I...
