    Introduction and some questions

Just noted a typo with the above, you will need to remove the boom and slider as well as the headset clamp. Pack all three items and protect the top of the fork.

    Introduction and some questions

Hi Greg Regarding the bike box, I've travelled all over with my S40 and V20 on eight separate flights and what I did was as follows:- Get two standard carboard bike boxes from your local bike shop. Buy six -seven rolls of duck tape Check the dimensions, but I do believe the max dimensions...

    V20 build

Both my Spye brake calipers on my V20 are post mount to an adapter. A 160 adapter for the front and 140 for the rear.

    What would you do?

Sometimes it's not about the cost but about the value. I've never ridden a T50 so cannot comment on the ride quality but the S40 which I do own is a serious piece of kit, I'd say even better than my V20, being that it is more versatile and a better overall ride being able to throw the bike about...

    Sebring 2019

^ It looks like he packed at around the 13-14hr mark. Real shame if this is the case, those that follow him on Strava were in awe of the efforts he was putting in over the last six or so weeks.

S40 with either XTR DI2 or SRAM Eagle groups

I don't, but have seen videos of it online and yes it would be with the WiFIi mech. FWIW see below for an ultegra 'shadow' rear mech running a wolf link to give 23/46 & 40/46. Don't see why this cannot be done with a Red Etap rear mech providing it is a medium cage, although I'd probably go up...

S40 with either XTR DI2 or SRAM Eagle groups

Not sure about the XTR, but I have SRAM Red Etap, this along with using a Wolf tooth road link with a short/med cage mech and you can go up to 40/42t.

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

+1 For me the whole upper body thing is not about moving the bottom bracket towards your foot you're about to drive with, it's about using the upper body as leverage which allows you to kick harder - the only wobble (which should be very little) should be the correction when going through the...

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

Bizarre, there's no sourpuss from me. Just an honest opinion of what it's like trying to read through this thread. Not sure what it is about 'me' that makes people not want to post, given that you are banned over on BROL I'd suggest that there is some projection going on here? Either way good...

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

I don't assume anything, it was imo and the 'Thread closed' was an attempt at some irony given what you put in the original post. I don't think you even know what the real problem is and just talk for the sake of talking, for which I see this being a very long drawn out process which I want no...

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

imo:- The 'truth' you refer too is yourself, ad nauseum talking about pretty much anything and everything (apologies for the hyperbole) to do with yourself riding a MBB. Most of which is based on your own anecdotal evidence but which you pass off as gospel. It's laborious to read through it...

S40 or any Cruzbike with disc brakes on a Neo

Hi Suz You need to take the disk brake mount off. I had the same issue when fitting my S40 to a Neo. You get the same thing with a V20 as well.

    Front wheel change is tough!

You don't upend bikes - ever. :) What I do is to spend a minute undoing the bolts for the disk brake caliper and using a chain splitter tool, split the chain. Removing the wheel and putting it back on is so much easier doing these two things and it only takes a minute to reattach the chain...

    V20 Newbie

You can use spacers, or you can drill some holes further up the seat and the cages fit without any spacers. IME though these are a faff to reach, what is far better is the attachment that fits to the rear of the headrest which fits two water bottles and you can still keep the bottles behind the...

SRAM Rival YAW front mech woes continue!

If it's cable tension then an in line barrel adjuster is the way to go. Worked for me with my set up, although I have not got a YAW mech and do you really need one? With the chain length being ever so slightly longer than a DF you should have less chain rub and therefore less need to trim.

The compact chainring front mech issues thread

How about getting a different front mech? I have a 50/34 on my V20 with SRAM Red Etap (formally had an Ultegra mech) and a 40/23 on my S40 with an Ultegra front mech with a Wickwerts adapter. The Ultegra set up worked fine with a little bit of tinkering to get the trim right.

    Ultimate hill climber 40/23*11-46

I purchased my S40 back in October with the view of it being a bike to commute on and also being able to handle hilly brevets. Am pleased to say that with not a lot of tinkering I'm running a 40/23 chain set and 11-46 cassette. All works and shifts well. For the rear cassette I'm using the...
