I have a 1-inch threadless headset on my donor bike.
On another thread hardtailcruzer said: "...it shouldn't generate any real problems. If the length of steerer tube above the upper headset bearing is reasonable, you can use a seatpost shim, installed upside down on the steerer tube, to match it to the inner diameter of the kit stem extension tube, which is 28.6mm inner diameter."
What is a seatpost shim?
