I always wondered what it would be like pedaling for more than 10 hours.
Now I know it. This Sunday I did an Audax 200 Km brevet in 10h20m.

It is not Hawaii but still some nice beaches along the way:

Not even close to France

Not even close to France but indeed quite active.

There are a lot of 200, 300, 400 and 600 Km brevets, but we don't have a 1000 Km one yet.
Most of the clubs organizing brevets are in the southeast of the country. There is immense room for the sport to grow. But our reality is quite different from the USA or Europe. Not many good roads for randonneuring and many careless drivers. But things are improving and we are struggling to make it happen!

Lack of decent roads are a

Lack of decent roads are a big deterrent to randonneuring, which require control points which are not always in the nicest places.
