2020 V20 FS On eBay

Damn, I was expecting to see a bike with upgrades and mods on par with mine but it's basically stock.
Exactly. As great as the bike is, a price like that can only be justified if it also came with a high-end wheelset, and the indoor trainer to boot. It's not even in pristine shape. There's scrapes on various parts.

I expect the price will be lowered considerably, and perhaps then he will post it here where there's a higher chance of actually finding a buyer.

$7,500 V20 (+$300 shipping)

I'm tempted to message the seller and ask if they've seen what a brand new 2021 V20 costs.
It sounds like one of those listings I see every so often where someone doesn't know what they've got but they know it's rare and that rare and exotic racing bikes sell for like $10k so they pick a number out of the air.
Then again, things cost whatever someone is willing to pay. The market will decide. Caveat Emptor.

Well, that didn't take long. It either sold or the seller pulled the auction listing. I'm thinking the latter.

I see where he is coming from. I'm hoping all my bikes and motorcycle toys are retirement investments too.

It was a case of the seller and a distant buyer using eBay as a safe way to conduct an already agreed upon transaction. It happens quite often and is a recommended practice.

The extraordinarily high price is a way to fend off other potential buyers from swooping in and winning it. The original buyer makes an eBay offer that was already agreed upon and the seller only accepts from that person. Both parties are protected by the eBay establishment. Works a treat.

I know this was the case for this bike because I was the distant buyer. In the end, we realized that both of us were trustworthy and made the transaction outside of eBay. We felt OK with doing this since we first communicated it all before hand.

It arrived today so I'm now the proud owner of a Vendetta that has less than 150 miles on it for 1/3 the price of a new one. The little nubs are still on the tires. Everything looks brand new except for the couple of scuffs where the p.o. dropped it while trying to learn. The brake surfaces on the wheels are pristine and the brake pads even look new. Plus it came with quite a few unused extras including a frame bag and a headrest water bottle mount.

Woo-hoo! Sorry for the gloat but I'm excited about finally landing a V20! Now to learn to ride it...

It's not listed anymore, perhaps he could have got more for it?
