I'm waiting for NASA to perfect the tech, and for the price to come down. Or maybe I will win the lottery!

The shapeways site does look as though they do custom work (this interests me) using your design or doing the design, and in many different materials (not just plastics) including aluminum (alloys?), stainless steel, brass, etc.
