A4x speed comparison, & transporting by pickup truck?

I currently ride a Bacchetta Bella at 16-17 mph; about the same speed as my riding buddies. It has 20/26 wheels with 38mm tires. I see the A4x has 47mm tires. Should I expect a slightly slower speed?

Also, how are people transporting these MBB bikes in truck beds? I remove my Bella's quick-release front wheel & clamp the forks in a bracket, like this mt bike photo below.

Call me old-fashioned, but the beauty of a truck bed is that you can just throw things in there and drive off.
I might rest it on an old towel in there so it doesn't slide and scrape up something...

You could swap out tires for something more akin to road bikes. The A4x is built for a variety of surfaces, including gravel trails. The S40 is designed and equipped as a faster road bike.

I just read the A4x is 70.5" long (depending on the bottom bracket adjustment), and my truck bed is 73.3" long. So I could just lay it down without disassembling anything.
