Another great weekend of riding

I went out Saturday with an acquaintance from the BROL board. I left from home and met him and his neighbor over at the SART in San Bernardino. I left the house later than I meant to, so had to hammer over to the trail. I know for a fact I had a 22 mph average over the 8 mile ride, but accidentally cleared my computer before I could prove it. These guys are both really strong riders, but prefer to stick to bike paths rather than vehicle occupied streets. While I respect that, I certainly do not agree with the notion that bike paths are the only place we can safely ride. Right, wrong, or indifferent, I stand up for our right to ride on the streets we pay for with our taxes. Anyway, we took off and headed from San Bernardino to the Norco end of the bike path. Along the way, we took turns letting it rip and pulling away from each other. I got the better end or it on an uphill stretch whrere I let it rio and pulled way away from the other two riders! They were both pretty impressed with the Cruzbike and the way it handled the uphills,I think. We rode up to the end of the SART, then turned and headed back. We stopped at a favorite greasy spoon on the way back for a bite of breakfast. We visited a little bit over the breakfast respite, then headed on back. We split up at one point, them sticking to the path and me heading off on city streets for some hill climbing on the way back home. It was great and as usual, I felt pretty well spent by the time I got home.

Today, we did our usual breakfast ride and I extended it out before and after. Nothing fast and furious, just turning of the pedals and adding to the fitness.

All said and told, 98 miles for the weekend. I'll take it!

Sounds like good weekend of riding I didn't ride too much but did ride up one hill I have had to walk before.Might be getting stronger as far as speed goes 25 on flat no wind never 30. I can only hold 18-19.Guess you will have to slow down next time we ride. Jack
