Anyone Paint their Carbon Fiber Front Triangle?

New member here. Just purchased a V20c frameset. I noted the carbon fiber parts have a rather "industrial" finish--it appears both marred and scuffed. The S40's aluminium front triangle had a much nicer finish by contrast. I am contemplating finishing this with a high quality black satin spray paint prior to assembly. Has anyone done this? Bad idea? Any specific suggestions? Thanks for your thoughts.

Quite confident that would not be an issue. The main area requiring caution would be the slider tube.

Yes, I repainted an entire V20C to match the original Vendetta color scheme - even had original decals made and applied.
Top bike - My original Vedetta
Middle V20C repainted
Bottom - Stock V20C (Yellow/gold)

note on my repainting: Aluminum frame is powder coated, and CF parts painted. The paints chips off the CF pretty easily.

For what it's worth, a semi-break in the weather allowed me to spray paint my CF front end. I used SEM trim black ultra in satin. It layed down a nice consistent finish with just a hint of texture (similar to the finish on the handlebar). It looks far better than the factory finish. I am a bit shocked at how poor the finish was on these parts brand new out of the box! Is it just me or did anyone else take issue with this?

Anyway, once the bike is together I will upload some pics.

Did you get any pictures of the bad paint job and if you did would you post them? I would like to see them.

Naw, it wasn't anything I wanted to make a stink about. Just found this very unexpected. I suspect it was just a low quality flat paint that was in need of a couple more coats at the very least.

My take on the finish on the carbon bits of the V20c is that they were going for that semi-opaque/semi-transparent top coat that shows off the carbon a little bit, especially in the sun. It's not so much that the finish is bad, but that you are able to see the carbon layup beneath. My Specialized Aethos has the same kind of finish, but even more transparent than the V20c. I'm not necessarily defending this finish, but rather just putting out there what Cruzbike might have been going for. Painting over it could certainly look sharp.

Yes. I suspect you are right on that observation. An attempt to preserve "that carbon fiber look." FWIW, I am really please with the look of the product I mentioned above. Even in suboptimal conditions it resulted in a very nice, professional looking finish.

I think put in my final order for a couple of tools/parts to finish my build. Ready to see some progress.
