Are the 451 and 559 Quests the same bike but for the wheels?

...or does the 559 have a longer chainstay?

Also, as xseam shortens does the height of the bottom bracket increase at a constant rate, i.e., can one say that for every 100mm increase in the xseam the BB height decreases by 'x'?

Thanks!

It's a different chainstay. The rear yolk is the same for either wheelset, I think

Yes. If you look at my bike, my bottom bracket is considerably lower than Jack, or Tom's bikes. Not a bad thing, though I thought it could be. It's all in what you get used to.

I put my kit on a 24" kids frame and put 650c wheels on it. With that combo, I could not get my front derailleur to not rub in some combinations when the TFT was adjusted far enough out for me; the BB was too low. Before I could even start to sort it out, my daughter (to whom the frame had originally belonged to) claimed it as her own (see "my little Cruzer")

Thanks, Mark. FYI, re

the "my little Cruzer" link just takes you to the forums home page. Would enjoy seeing the photo.

Love to. Where? (for all 3 bikes)

Also, am wondering what the difference in BB height would be between a Quest 559 outfitted with 451's and a Quest 451 [outfitted w/ 451's, of course], x-seams being equal.

The reason I'm asking all these questions is that I am considering lower-BB alternatives to my Silvio (whose BB height is 673 mm). Most incarnations of the Quest would fill that bill, as, I suppose, would my own buildup of a frameset/conversion kit. I ate pavement at 30 mph last year on the Silvio, and since then have developed a keen interest in riding a little lower and slower.

Fixed the link, sorry about that.

Not the greatest picture, but you get the idea.
