B&W 96002/N Hardcase bicyle shipping box revue

b&w. i don't think they make this big case any more. it has two things that i don't like that much 1. pull handle known to break. i broke mine and took the mount off. replacing with a standard pull works just fine. 2. front wheels don't turn. this doesn't bother me much, as i just lift or drag the end as i walk.

another bike that fits in is my tica if i take the carbon rear off. i can leave the rest in place.

the biggest complaint and the biggest advantage are the same. the case is huge. airlines do not love it. some airlines just want to make is so expensive you don't bring it.

the tern case is a lot smaller. https://www.ternbicycles.com/us/gear/471/airporter

strangely i have no pictures.

If it fits in a Tern Air Porter, I will go with that as it is closer to airline legal and doesn't look like a bike suitcase.

Surely, the AirPorter is too small for a Vendetta, and is only a good option for a Q45, right? Larry says he needs 47", the V20 frameset box is 44", and the AirPorter is only 34.6".

I'm wondering what options I have for traveling with my Vendetta. The B&W frankly seems too large. Which cases are actually known to work?

EDIT: Hmm, I found this one discounted at $166:

That's clearly too good of a deal to pass on, so I bought it. Will try to remember to post my review when I get it.
