Big Speed Increase

Today I brought my average speed on my V up 1.3 mph over my usual average with the installation of ceramic head set bearings.
These babies are smooth as silk too.

People to often overlook the gains you can get from good smooth and might I add lightweight headset bearings. When I installed mine I went from an avg speed of 6 to 7 mph on a 2000' climb because the bike was lighter and I could rock the boom back and forth with less effort.

-Pretend you're reading this on the first of April-

Save weight; go even faster:

It's a lot of work, but so worth it.
Disassemble your headset, wheel hubs, cassette and freewheel assembly, bottom bracket and pedals.
Remove all of the bearings and degrease them all very thoroughly.
Treat all of your cleaned and dry bearings with molybdenum disulfide solution and allow the solvent to completely dry.
Reassemble everything correctly: You'll hate yourself if you skip this step.
Enjoy your much lighter bike and your well-earned speed increase.
