Bike Rack

It looks like that rack should work fine for a trunk bag.

However, you may want to ask if anyone has one of the racks that were made for the QX100 that is not being used. There were two styles if I recall: one was light weight foldable and the other was a bit heavier duty for touring definitely leaving space for full fenders and full panniers.

Where are you located?

From your previous post "Model and Build Date" you have a Quest V1 (559 wheels).

(All of the Quest and QX100 models had the same basic geometry with minor differences changing from front suspension to non-suspended front fork and "front" derailleur to dual-drive internal hub back to front derailleur. The new Q45 name arrived with the stiffer front triangle handed down from the V and S models and have moved to 1x drivetrain (no front derailleur) and they have moved to a standard size rear shock. Slowly over time the clearances have grown for wider tires.)

Just checking as I may do something similar for my new Q45 ... one needs to buy the Top Peak side pannier frame to go with beams listed to prevent the pannier from flapping against the wheel / spokes ... correct??

Yes you need the Side pannier frames!
Nah, just use a front handlebar bag with the loop hooked on the top of the seat back.

... Well that would have been a good idea with the old MEC handlebar bag. Unfortunately, they no longer have a loop on top to hold a map bag on top of the handlebar bag so you would have to actually make an attachment loop - much more work than off the shelf 6-7 L handlebar bag that just slides on easier than its designed connections!

@GV_Ottawa If you are in Hamilton area you are welcome to come check out my setup and see if my QX100 pannier racks will fit Q45. I bet I am not the only one with them sitting around in the garage.

@benphyr I am actually picking up my Q45 from Hamilton Bent and Trike on Friday 8 Nov. It appears as though the rack option from Cruzbike is not in stock and thus I will be looking for an alternative. Let me know if I might be able to drop by your place on 8 Nov to see if your QX100 rack might fit.
