Bike Stand Position for Back Wheel

I bought a park bike repair stand. Someone here was able to help me with positioning. To work in front wheel, I clamp down on boom. The front wheel is the “business” end. But I now need to work on back wheel. Where do I put the clamp?

It should be over the QR (Quick release) clamps.

I always work on my bike indoors, but if you are going to do it outdoors, to protect the frame have a towel or cycling gloves ready to put under the frame so you dont scratch it.

I clamp mine by the boom for everything, including working on the back end. If I am working on the rear wheel specifically, I remove the wheel from the frame. If I am working on the rear half of the frame, I remove the rear wheel anyway for better access, and raise the stand until the rear dropouts are off the ground. Sometimes I will prop the rear dropouts on a plastic step stool to give the back half something to rest on, while I scoot around it on a short work stool with wheels ($20.00 at Harbor Freight). Regardless, the bike remains clamped in the stand at the boom.

what if I want to spin back wheel while connected to bike? For example to deal with rubbing on brakes etc.

I don’t understand “on qr”. The front of bike is being held up with work stand clamping down on boom

I have a Park PCS 10 stand. The clamp is designed to rotate so that the rear wheel can be rotated up off the floor and fixed in place so that brake adjustment, etc. can be done.

If I need to keep the rear wheel on the bike, I can raise the stand high enough to bring the wheel off the ground (though I admit that I've never had to do that). I use caliper brakes, and those are easy to adjust side-to-side. If the wheel is out of true, I take it off and put it on the truing stand.
