Boom is impossible to slide up or down

I recently purchased a used V in very nice shape and upgraded considerably - Di2, etc. I'm much shorter than the previous owner, so adjusting the boom is necessary. However, so far it has been impossible to move, and I don't wish to start "beating" on things. All of the appropriate screws have been loosened including the skewer. Thoughts or suggestions or similar experiences? Thanks......

Try this:
Tighten the skewer, and gently snug-up the bottom bracket clamps.
Remove the bolt holding the boom to the steering stem.
Sit on the seat in normal riding position, put a foot on a pedal.
Pop the boom up off of the steering stem, then pull and twist on the handlebars.
Probably not a bad idea to disconnect the Di2 wires just in case the boom pops loose.

If that doesn't do it, try propping the bike up so the boom is perpendicular to earth and spray some P.B. Blaster or similar into the gap of the boom, letting it soak overnight, then try again.

as per bent aero above also search in the forums as many have commented previously on this problem. enter "boom stuck" boom wont move etc good luck hopefully it will move. aluminium oxide can be tough.

Twisting it will more likely break it loose than trying to pull on it.
Which is what BentAero was also trying to get you to do.
The slider tube was most likely pushed down into the boom tube so far that it just go stuck.
Hopefully it is not rusted shut, as that would be hard to fix. But it is also highly unlikely this bike was out in very much wet weather.
Good Luck, and we'll be waiting to see your solution.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I think that my best bet lies with BentAero's suggestion. Having more than 2 arms would certainly be a plus. I also want to do something, once loose and apart, about preventing this for future adjustments. Using the search feature in the future is also on my list of things to do, but then doing so doesn't allow for these great conversations.

I'll let you all know what happens. Thanks again.

Since the slider is most likely "stuck" in the boom down where it curves:
Once you get it apart, if you need it shorter, then measure and cut the "slider" off so it is at least a couple inches from where the boom started it's curve, and you should be OK!
If you need it longer, then you are probably ok.

If you still can't get it loose, Jim Parker has a solution but it ain't exactly pretty. It is pretty hilarious , however...
