Building a rigid storage box under the frame

here’s the beginning of another Rojoracing hack job. I need some extra storage for my quick 600 mile bike packing trip and I’m thinking with some cardboard and duct tape I can make something to get me by. Hell, with a little refinement I may even be able to form it into a shape so it isn’t a massive wind drag.

Here's a Coroplast one I whipped up on a wet Saturday arvo, attached to seat with industrial strength Velcro .
And yes I know it's a poor and less skilled mans version of Rick Youngbloods Carbon work of art.
Still super light and does the job.

@Bentas,
You have turned your bike from a paper mache duct-tape-forever beauty-in-function to a work of art. I love the look especially the red highlights to the metallic frame tricks the eye into seeing an arrow rather than being drawn to the joints.

How did you get the Coroplast to curve so smoothly around the rear of the box? Every time I try to curve it more than slightly I end up with a multiple kinked sectioned "curve".

@RojoRacing,
It looks like you are making a fairing for your rear wheel. Maybe like the seat tube of a Cervelo?

Thanks for the encouragement, in the process of getting decals done,
I've never worked with Coroplast before but I suspect the reason the stuff I'm using is able to bend without kinking is because it's only 2mm in thickness ,the bottom and the lid (flat ares) are 4mm thick, two bits glued together,
I'll take some pics of Carbon fibre reenforcing construction and Velcro attachment when I get a chance.

And for long rides I add a terracycle bag underneath and I put my bladder in it.

If you extend it forward and backwards and follow the shape of the wheels, I THINK it would improved the Aero!!!

Larry might have already tried a mod like this???

Like this one duct-taped to an Arrowhead, but extending back enough to smooth the air flow?

In a similar vein, I like the thought of the behind-the-shoulder fairing/storage unit. The troubles I think of with Thorseat's Dolphin: Will it open with my head rest in place. Is the angle right for the Vendetta. Do you really need that deep groove inside? I look forward to Jason's evaluation on this.

Then there's this home-made looking one seen on Tor's P-B-P video:

@RojoRacing . Did your under-bike storage system work out? Also, I'm wondering how the Thor Dolphin tail-box is on the V20.
