Cable Routing on Sofrider V2

Hi all:
I just bought a used V2 and it came a little more disassembled than I was hoping for! I put it together with no problem and everything seems to be working fine - I've even put 4-5 miles on it as of day 1! (i'm happy with that as it is my first bent) However it seems like the cables are everywhere and i'd like to clean the routing up a bit. Is there a routing schematic or pictures somewhere i could have a look at? Any routing revisions that would improve the looks or functionality? Thanks for your help.

Did you run the cables

Did you run the cables through the fork or yoke of the boom slider where it connects to the pivot clamp? I AM PROBABLY NOT USING THE RIGHT TERMINOLOLGY.

Ugh...caps lock. Sorry.

If you remove the bolts that connect the black boom segment to the clamp, run all four cables theough the forked end and then reconnect it to the clamp.

Andrew - that makes sense and

Andrew - that makes sense and aligns with what i could tell from some of the pictures.
Done - pretty easy and looks way better!

plc2 - here is a picture; notice i have the adjustable front tube slider upside down - the markings on it are on the underside but there was quite a bit more room for the cables when mounted this way. Other than not easily being able to see the setting of the adjustable tube I'm not sure if there are any other reasons to not mount it this way. Anyone?

andrew - is that just to give

andrew - is that just to give the cable more slack? It seems ok as it is but i can see it would probably be preferred as you say; is there a way to do it without splitting the bike that wont mess up my shifter adjustment?

Yes.

I'm not an expert, but I can imagine that shifting may be compromised by the cable routing or worse yet, steering might be restricted causing an accident. If it's fine, only you can be the judge.

I I were to reroute the cables, I would shift the lower derailleur to the smallest cog, detach the cable and reroute it while ensuring to pull the cable taught to remove any slack. It's actually a simpler process than you'd think.

i was just being lazy for

i was just being lazy for moment! i took the cable off at the derailer, rerouted and lubed it up while i was at it. i found a tip on youtube - if you shift to a middle gear and then with the bike stopped move the shifter one way or the another you end up with enough slack to pull the cables off, check and lubricate them. thanks again.

Thanks for pics.
Does this

Thanks for pics.
Does this make the brake cables tighter squeezing the brakes? The reason I ask is bc the front brake cable was hitting my right thigh so I pulled on the cable to move it out of way which tightened the brake pad on the tires..

plc2 - on my bike there is

plc2 - on my bike there is sufficient cable length to route it this way; there needs to be a little slack in the cable or else the brake will be activated.
