Last night marked the opening bell of ZRL Round Three. The Cruising Cayuse rolled up as the defending champions of the D Category Developmental League. Yes—Developmental. The very bottom rung of a 2,261-team global league. The name suggests a gaggle of wide-eyed teenagers. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Cayuse are not “developing.”They are weathered. Our roster is a carefully curated collection of 50- to 70-year-old grizzled hippies, battle-scarred veterans, and seriously injured souls at various stages of rehab—people who apparently looked at physical therapy and said, “Nah, let’s make it worse.”

Recruitment was… extensive.
We looked under every rock.
Every stone.
Possibly several couch cushions.
We are confident we have mined every remaining Cayuse on Earth.

The Cruising Cayuses went out of the gate hot—questionably hot for a group whose warm-up includes joint lubrication—and never looked back. Calm, controlled, and slightly terrifying, they took the lead early and rode away to a convincing win over podium regulars Dirty Watts, Coalition, Zsunbums and Drafting Dinos.

Never underestimate experience, grit, and a stubborn refusal to quit. They still count for something.

Meanwhile, the newest offspring of the herd—Cayuse 2, a.k.a. The Deuce—made their debut. No training wheels. No excuses. A strong 4th-place finish, proving the pipeline is alive, functional, and mildly unhinged.

Round Three has begun.
The Cayuse are still here.
Still creaking, Still cruising.

Hey Cruzbikerteer brothers and sisters with smart trainers—got a minute for a genuine question?
I’ve been trying for years to lure you into the Zwift world—a place buzzing with riders, epic races, and a proven way to make your outdoor rides feel easier and your fitness stronger. Honestly, that’s probably why you got a smart trainer in the first place, right?
So… my question is what's keeping you on the sidelines? An honest question, What will it take for you to join the party??

Other than my lack of fitness it's the price of zwift now tbh. I'd not use it enough to get value for money anymore. I did used to enjoy it but my reason for getting a smart trainer was to knock the indoor Everesting badge off the list. I just use it as a dumb trainer atm. Tried mywhoosh but it kept messing me around and I was having to re install every couple of weeks which took over an hour.
It does sound like my creaky old, punk rock ravaged body and stubborn mind might fit the team well though.

I don’t use Zwift. After using Zwift for a long time (exclusively over one Wisconsin winter), I tried MyWhoosh then Rouvy. I much prefer Rouvy.

Were I still using Zwift I’d likely join in but don’t want to go back.

The Herd of Cruising Cayuses, Deuces, and Women's MargaRita teams smashed it again in the Zwift Racing League points race. We missed you, but you have another chance when Teams go Thursday night in the Team Time Trials before resuming the Tuesday night ZRL series.
