Last night marked the opening bell of ZRL Round Three. The Cruising Cayuse rolled up as the defending champions of the D Category Developmental League. Yes—Developmental. The very bottom rung of a 2,261-team global league. The name suggests a gaggle of wide-eyed teenagers. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Cayuse are not “developing.”They are weathered. Our roster is a carefully curated collection of 50- to 70-year-old grizzled hippies, battle-scarred veterans, and seriously injured souls at various stages of rehab—people who apparently looked at physical therapy and said, “Nah, let’s make it worse.”
Recruitment was… extensive.
We looked under every rock.
Every stone.
Possibly several couch cushions.
We are confident we have mined every remaining Cayuse on Earth.
The Cruising Cayuses went out of the gate hot—questionably hot for a group whose warm-up includes joint lubrication—and never looked back. Calm, controlled, and slightly terrifying, they took the lead early and rode away to a convincing win over podium regulars Dirty Watts, Coalition, Zsunbums and Drafting Dinos.
Never underestimate experience, grit, and a stubborn refusal to quit. They still count for something.
Meanwhile, the newest offspring of the herd—Cayuse 2, a.k.a. The Deuce—made their debut. No training wheels. No excuses. A strong 4th-place finish, proving the pipeline is alive, functional, and mildly unhinged.
Round Three has begun.
The Cayuse are still here.
Still creaking, Still cruising.
