Celebrating my first year with Cruzbike.

My desire to switch to a fast recumbent finally reached its tipping point after listening to Maria Parker’s interview on a podcast.

What followed was time spent reading the forums and blogs on Cruzbike.com and others, a test ride on a Bacchetta, the ordering of a Vendetta, and the three months of anxious waiting. I have followed in your footsteps for guidance and inspiration. Some examples:

Robert's use of B&M Cycle Star mirrors, and cut down the fork:

I want to thank every one of you for your contributions to this forum. The tips, build ideas, and motivations make the journey better.

Yesterday I completed the 56th TOSRV, my first century of the year in just under six hours. The vendetta is a fast, steady, and comfortable machine. I helped dispel the myth that recumbents are for slow, overweight, old riders. (Well maybe just the “slow” part!) The only people who passed me were a few groups of racer types and a tandem couple on a Calfee. With continued training, I hope to break the five hour century mark.

Sweet picture! With the Vendetta bridging the gap between the 2 shown!
Congrats on your accomplishment!
A 5-hour Century is a big deal - I still remember when I broke 5-hours myself.
