Can someone point me to the thread about waxing, by Ratz, i think.
I am particularly interested in getting a sonic cleaner, and where and what kind of wax to buy.
TIA

Molten speed wax... second that... doesnt take long but dont do it in the kitchen not unless you are single or want to be single.

Do more than one chain at the same time.

Melt the MSW in a small crock pot. Soak the cleaned chain in it for 20 minutes or so.

Once the initial factory lube is cleaned off (I use mineral spirits and alcohol the first time), just toss the chain into melted wax every 300-500 miles. No cleaning really needed. I use Squirt wax lube at 150-200 miles. If the chain gets nasty from riding in bad conditions, it goes into the ultrasonic and alcohol. YMMV. Zero friction has some good insight into getting the wax into the rollers.

I got a 1 quart crockpot from Fred Meyer for $12. Works great but takes an hour or two to melt the wax. I just leave it in the crock for storage, between waxings.

But it is strictly forbidden from the kitchen.

Mine takes about half an hour to melt it. The crock is dedicated. If I am in a hurry, I use my heat gun to speed it up but don't try that at home, kids.

I second Jason's how-to of searching the forum for information. There's so much available if you're willing to dig a bit.
The moltenspeedwax.com site is useful for its instructions even if you don't want to buy their waxes. I use three chains that I rotate every 500 miles or so.

I'm a recent MSW convert. Small dedicated crockpot and ultrasonic cleaner in garage.
A freshly waxed chain is eerily silent if you are used to more traditional lubrication.

I've gone back to pure clear wax over MSW because I like showing off that titanium nitrate gold chain and the MSW always gives it that slightly dirty look. I still keep a separate mini crock with very clean MSW just for those days I'm looking to set some kind of record.
