At Cruzbike headquarters, it was pow wow time. Rick rallied the troops. “Folks, we’ve been lagging a bit. It’s time to shake things up.” Emily was fired up. “I know what we can do. Let’s try the banana tossing tactic. It almost worked last time.” Yeah, chimed in Connie, “and this time we can add an anvil. That will slow them down.” Bridget popped in at the last minute. “Sorry I’m late folks. What did I miss?” After giving Bridget the update, Maria appeared and excitedly announced, “Eureka! I’ve got it! I found him at Sebring.” A mysterious figure slunked in behind her and announced, “I am Otto Bot. I make Chicks go faster.” Well done Maria! That’s what we’ve been missing.
With the top secret planning session behind them, the Chicks were motivated and took their places in the pen. Coyotes were 3 minutes ahead, Roadrunners 2 minutes, and Gorillaz 1 minute. It may not seem like a big lead, but these teams are notorious for their own sneaky tactics. Connie assured her fellow Chicks that this one would be a piece of cake. A few eency weency climbs then all flatland. No one believed her. Our goals this week: finish course in 48:30 or less, stick together like crazy glue, catch some critters on the course, and have fun. I am pleased to announce that all goals were reached and nobody died — at least not right away. Next week be forewarned, the Chicks still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
