Commuting

I can't make up my mind on which would be better for a short commute i.e. less that 10 miles one way. I would like to add fenders, lights and a rack. Quest or Softrider?

My commute is 4 miles, one way. I've ridden both the Quest 451 & Sofrider on this route (& also my Silvio). You'll find the roughness of the road to be the biggest factor. I think the suspension on the Quest is a bit softer & I felt I had more steering responsiveness due to the steeper head tube angle. I also think you'll have an easier time mounting bags & such. The only downside is the narrow tire, but you could always change to a 1 3/8" when the 1 1/8" wears out.

That said, the Silvio is still my favorite. I'll update these impressions with the Q559 once the roads clear off again (more snow last night).
