Compliments about the Cruzbike by bike designer

I just got back from Battle Mountain, Nevada last Sunday. I had spent the previous week there crewing for the World Human Power Speed Challenge (WHPSC). This was the final year for the running of the .deciMach prize. The prize purse ended up being roughly $24,000.00 A new record was set for the Flying 200m of 82.33mph. What's this have to do with the Cruzbike you ask? Well I took my Sofrider with me to have something to ride around during the day. The races were in the morning and evening when the wind died down. The designer of the winning bike, the Varna Diablo III, a man by the name of George Georgiev saw my Sofrider and spent about twenty minutes giving it the once over. He said that it was a very nice bike and designed properly for its intended application. He admired the simplicity of the design and the multitude of adjustments possible, specially the ability of the TFT adjustment for different riders. I had replaced the single chain ring with a triple set and show him how everything including the cable for the front derailleur stays in adjustment when changing the TFT for different x-seams. It was a great week spent in the middle of the nowhere. Below are two photos. The man on the bike in the first photo is George Georgiev, designer of the Varna Diablo bikes. The second photo is the Varna Diablo III that broke the speed record set in 2002 by the Varna Diablo II of 81mph The bar has been raised now to 82.33mph Here is a video link to Sam Whittingham setting the new record. http://www.vimeo.com/1819714
