Hmmm, how about an HFVDND?

What a mouthful. Intrigued. Wondering about dealing with flats, hassle of removing front wheel assembly.

You can run the same hub for freewheel, add an adaptor to the left side for disk/roller brake, to remove you unclip the cable remove nuts (need to keep a spanner with you) and slip it out. The earlier version the shift adaptor is on the out side and if you drop it you probably smash the adaptor and from low to hi the twist shifter is 1 & 1/4 turns the n360 is 3/4.

Hi Greg,
The Park Tool link I

Hi Greg,

The Park Tool link I posted above shows the brake options and pretty good detail on install remove.

At this point I'm just intrigued as the weight and non-QR wheel attachment are not attractive.

I'm buying a Wahoo Fitness KICKR trainer to use with my Vendetta. The KICKR has a road cassette included so to use it you undo the QR, remove the wheel, put the bike frame on the KICKR with your chain and RD set to the KICKR's cassette, hop on and start training.

Breaking out a spanner and fiddling with the cable end clamp lever and wires is OK if the bike is going to stay on the trainer with no quick on and off but otherwise it is more than I want to deal with right now. Maybe later or as a Sofrider upgrade like you have done.

Keep us posted on how it goes. Really nice build thread.

Yes Eric in the world of

Yes Eric in the world of going fast and keeping an eye on weights etc it wouldn't be the go but that wasn't my aim, i was after a better gear ratio spacing and after looking at internally geared hubs found this one and it suits me and for me I'd rather non QR wheel with $600 wheel removal a lever click from being stolen, and not really an option with this hub design.

As a reference to someone who would prefer QR axle nuts you can buy this as a separate item ....
