I posted this in the Community section also. I apologize to the moderators if I shouldn't have. I wasn't sure exactly where to post it. Please move or remove it as You see fit. Thanks.

Hello Everyone,
Posting here as it didn't seem to fit any other topic. Although I did see an old thread regarding a trike.

I've followed Cruzbike since just the kits were offered, wishing I could ride one. However I have balance issues and need a trike, so I've been riding a tadpole style for the last 10 years. Lately it was getting difficult getting on and off. Hip replacement, back, and knees so I went with a delta trike the end of last season.
It's a Lightfoot Ariel, Lightfoot's answer to the Kett ;) Not sure about that, but so far I like it, but it is what it is. A delta with a seat height in the 20" range.

I've been seeing a lot of tilting deltas showing up lately. Most homebuilt, but a few weeks ago Raptobike showed a proof of concept of a rear tilting module. It would be available for both the low racer and mid racer Raptobikes. The mid racer has a seat height in the 20" range. So that gave Me some hope.
I've been doing a lot of research and quite a few tilting deltas. The two I like are nice French MBB homebuilt and Bill Bates tilting attachment for His Zox clone. Bill's attaches to the rear triangle. Looks good.

Anyone have any thoughts about building a Cruzbike conversion and building a tilting attachment for it or doing a conversion on one complete bikes?

Best Regards

Hi Jim,

Actually the team has been chatting about this quite a bit lately.

Several of our designs would lend themselves to a performance trike conversion, even a tilting design if we could come up with something light and effective.

We have several major initiatives to complete in the short term, then we may turn our attention to the trike world.

Stay tuned!

Cheers,

Doug

It could be worth visiting the Jet Trike site and join the mailing list. Henry Thomas says 2011 will be the year of the Mark III. He's been busy for a while, but in December said he would start work in 2011, see:

http://mail.jetrike.com/pipermail/jetalk_jetrike.com/2010-December/000713.html

I have sent him email on a combination of FWD Cruzbike and the tilting delta set up. Maybe you could follow up?

The web site is at: http://jetrike.com/

Another innovative Australian at work :)

@Doug..That would be great if it happens. Personally I think it would open up another market for Cruzbike. Although I would really prefer to ride 2 wheels, I can't safely. Also from I've been reading lately trikes have become very popular over the last couple of years. Seems even those who don't have to are riding them. Thanks Doug.

@Dennis...I am aware of the Jet Trike, great site Henry has. I too have been waiting to see what Henry comes up with in 2011. I think I may be on the mailing list, I'll check. If not I'll take Your advice. I was honestly thinking of contacting Him just to get His opinion. All the work He has done and then to put it all there for free. Pretty darn nice of Him I think. Thanks Dennis
