Curbed

What happens when riding a Cruzbike in the gutter and you drift into the curb? Has anyone done so? Pedal strike isn't an issue.

I rarely ride in the gutter, but a particular stretch of a main road has manhole covers in the bike lane. They are bumpy, so if there is no traffic I ride around them on the traffic side. With traffic I sometimes ride around them in the gutter. Was wondering what would happen if I drifted into the curb. I expect that the curb would prevent me from turning to the right which is necessary to initiate a lean to the left and so move away from the curb.

At a guess the curb would jerk the wheel right slightly as it tries to unsuccessfully climb the curb while also slowing you down as it scrubs the side wall of the tire. The effect would be to pitch you left onto the ground.

Mind you if it happens in a left hand curve you high side (flip to the right).
