I do not think a hydraulic hose operated system will be accepted like wired or especially wireless systems!

A good hydraulic system is way better than a great cable system... in my experience.

Still would like to see a CVT, with no gaps in gearing, but with much less weight than the current NuVinci (which I have on my QX100) and efficiency comparable to derailleurs. No doubt that having the pedals turn a generator and then power electric motors on both wheels would not be efficient or light enough... When it comes to bicycling inventions, there is not much of anything that someone somewhere hasn't already tried.
