i have started the frame for a dual 26 lowracer with a conversion kit front end and i'm wondering if parts are available to replace the tall stem adapter used on the conversion kit. because the seat will be positioned slightly above the axel height i will only need a short stem.

Build with the standard long stem, slide the stem down the tube and ride that way till you got the feel for what you need, and cut it off.

I agree. You can always put a flashy light on topof the stem and as you ride, yell out "wooo-woooooo-woooooo-wooooo". People will think your either part of the special police, or just special. :D

john, i'm pretty sure using the long tube will put the handlebars about a foot above my head. i should be able to put together a mock-up in a couple of days and i'll post a pic.
i am kind of reminded of peter fonda and dennis hopper in easy rider though.

What John is saying is; you can put the stem however far down the riser as you need it. Yes, there will be excess riser sticking above. When you are sure everything is as you want it, cut the riser down to where you need it so it does not stick above the stem. Unless you want the flashy light thing like I suggested. :D

this is an early mock-up (the geometry has changed a bit since). i only need about an inch or two of stem.
