We have one of these (FRONT hub motor) to go on the rear of a through axle Q45 at some point at the warehouse as a test case. I am expecting no issues - other than finding a good way to mount a 20Ah battery and possibly wiring lengths. I am pretty sure this has been done on the through axle Q's before but I am not sure how documented it is (?)If it's a quick release it shouldn't be much of a problem but if it's a thru axle one it's possible but very expensive. This is about the only motor I think. https://ebikes.ca/product-info/grin-products/all-axle-hub-motor.html
I can’t wait to see what you come up. Good luck!We have one of these (FRONT hub motor) to go on the rear of a through axle Q45 at some point at the warehouse as a test case. My goal is to get a complete kit/orderable set put together from Grin so people can do a one-stop-shop to get a conversion - maybe with a few options that can be selected.
I am not 100% sure when we will get to that though to try it out.

More details coming soon. It is a bit less "DIY" than I would like so far but working on it.Put me down for one kit.
An electric Q45 is the holy grail of Cruzbikes - best on many dimensions
Yes! Enjoying my Q45-E! Longest ride so far, 52.3 miles (1477’ climbing) with an 80% charge on battery. At the end still had about 51% battery charge. Power setting 1 (power range 0-3). Average speed 14mph; max speed 33.7mph.@Robert Holler - any luck with the electric add ons for the Q45?
That looks pretty cool. What kit did you use for the ‘electric’ add-on?Yes! Enjoying my Q45-E! Longest ride so far, 52.3 miles (1477’ climbing) with an 80% charge on battery. At the end still had about 51% battery charge. Power setting 1 (power range 0-3). Average speed 14mph; max speed 33.7mph.

Still running the stock wheels with street/gravel tires. My battery is bolted on top of rear rack. Weighed the bike with a bathroom scale: front 40 lbs; rear 25 lbs. Haven’t weighed the bike with me on it - that’s next.I liked the battery where the under seat rack is. I found that the weight on the rear rack caused too much tail wag, but it was fine between the lower rack frames and did not interfere with panniers on that rack. There are pictures of the placement in my thread.
