First overnight ride on the V20c

Just completed a two day ride with friends this weekend. The Silver comet and Chief Ladiga rails to trail route from Smyrna Ga to Anniston Alabama for the night with a return ride back the next day. I had some make shift panniers to haul my CPAP and essentials. The bike was a joy to ride. I felt fresh each day after 95+ miles with the exception of tired legs. I did pick up some debris resulting in a flat - but other than that we had a great time.
I will be replacing my bag system with appropriate side and/or rear bag. Nice ride and yes I did lay down some watts several times pulling folks on the ride .

Great job. That trail is on my list to ride this summer. I am also working out luggage for my S30. Beautiful bike. Did you camp or hotel?

We stayed in a hotel in Anniston, food, laundromat, and a Walmart nearby for any needs. Georgia trail is nice and smooth - Alabama is bumpier and more narrow. I’d recommend stopping in Piedmont at Higher Ground coffee shop, muffins and ice cream. We stopped both going down and coming back.

Thanks, I will make a note about Higher Ground Coffee Shop.

I’m also planning to ride this trail sometime. Is it paved the whole way?
If doing an out-and-back, it’s not necessary to carry everything. Just come back to your car. (This place looks like a nice halfway point.)
That’s what I did for the GAP.

Very nice - we stayed in a low cost place at the end of Chief Ladiga. This would be a great spot - The section between Cedartown and Rockmart is the toughest part - several steep grades, but short duration. Unfortunately it was raining when we went though making it more of a challenge. The trails are paved end to end. I found a you tube of a gentleman riding it. It gives a great overview.
