Found a used Silvio and need help

Hello!

I recently found a used Silvio on Craigslist, went to see it and ended up buying it. The seller knew it had been modified to fit a shorter rider and I figured I could get it to fit me with a few parts. I previously had a Silvio that was very early, perhaps the second production run. I sold it about ten years ago. I have several other recumbents but definitely missed the front wheel drive setup and wanted to try it out again. In the photos you can see a very early frame, dead head shock and a fully custom slider.

My post today is an attempt to locate the slider clamp that fits the steerer clamp. I see the slider is available from Cruzbike directly. Also if anyone can't quite fit an older Silvio because the bars are too far away or too high, I have a solution for you!

Cheers!
Lev

-edited to add that the existing slider is 48mm OD.

Very interesting hybrid. That’s a Vendetta prototype boom & slider, the early Vendettas came with a straight slider. You may be able to make it fit by extending the boom out. (It will depend on how much the slider has been cut.)

Interesting indeed. Thank you for your reply Mathew.

I had assumed the slider was custom having not seen one like it before. It being a prototype sounds plausible. Sadly though I can just about extend the boom far enough for proper leg extension the handlebar is far too close and too low. At proper leg extension the slider is engaged with the boom and clamp by less than 2cm overlap, which doesn't seem like enough.

So I'm definitely looking for the parts to switch it back to having the slider straight (or with a curved end) and the standard clamp which attaches to the steerer clamp.

Cruzbike should be able to supply the clamp that bolts onto the headset cap. I'd be inclined to go with a curved slicer maybe, the height of the chain stay with a straight boom and slider the handle bars look to be too high? that's what I'm getting from the picture.
