Garmin 520

I recently received my Garmin 520. A nice upgrade to my venerable garmin 305. It has been a while for me since I used Garmin Connect, Ride With GPS or Strava (didn't exist then).

So I went and set everything up. Holy cow this is so much easier. My Garmin is connected via bluetooth to my phone. So I do a ride and it auto-uploads to garmin connect post ride. Then Connect syncs to RWGPS and Strava. I now have data in three places with no effort, no missing rides due to laziness. I just have to take the Garmin off to charge it now. I am in love with this and think I will forgo the old-school bike computer that I normally put on my bikes as an Odometer. This technique is so much easier then it used to be.

Good to know Duncan. Thanks for the feedback. I've been using my phone for Strava, but have been wanting to have more of a cycle computer display without draining the phone batteries. I cannot seem to get rid of the ole computer. Maybe the 520 will finally be the device to replace it.

Scott, you might want to check out ipBike, if you have an Android phone. If you have a recent Samsung or Sony phone, your phone supports ANT+ sensors and several apps have varying levels of ANT+ support.

Wow, where have I been? Thanks Sam - just installed and looking forward to checking it out.

Landscape is definitely changing again.
I wonder what kind of "control" it has over the KICKR. Would "really" be nice if you could download TrainRoad or of type of workout programs into it!
