half-circle cap holding chainstays to bottom bracket

Regarding a 2021 Q45.
I have discovered that the half-circle cap that holds the chainstays to the bottom bracket is cracked in two. The one on the left is intact, the one closest to the chainring has failed, however, it seems prudent to me to ask about replacing both.

I have send an enquiry to Cruzbike through the web site.

Does anyone else have these parts?

Thanks in advance.

Cruzbike will sell you replacements. They are pricey and legend has it it’s because folks were hoarding them. When you replace it, don’t crank down the bolts too tight. They just need to be snug.

Adding to what Derek said, also make sure that the gaps between the two halves of the clamps (two gaps on each side of the bb shell) are even. This will suggest that you have similar tension on all four bolts, and that the clamping pressure will be distributed across the clamp.

I bought 4 little m4 washers and put them in between the halves. Works great!

I have small orings between the halves on my v20, when I am tightening them i put my fingernail between the halves to make sure they are not bottomed out.

This came up on a different thread.

Take two credit cards and use these to set the gap, then set to 2NM as the torque setting. This is based on my own experience.
