Handlebar got bent, what now?

Hi

The snow made it alot more slippery that i had anticipated, so even if i did go slow, the wheel slid out and i fell over. This bended the handlebar, but it looks like it was the only thing that got bended.

1) will it hold if i bend it back those 15 cm?

2) can i put on a sofrider style handlebar, because i expect this to be easier to get through doors.

3) can i use regular bike parts?

It's a steel part, so it'll hold your repair -bending it back into shape.
But first, before you bend it, remove it from the bike:
you don't want to bend anything else!

Thanks for the advice. I didnt think of the bending other stuff, maybe because i'm not a mecanic.

A plumber will have equipment to bend the pipe if you have problems straightening it?

I will probably take it to the Leitra/pedalkraft workshop where there is a recumbent club meeting thursdays.

Yes, sorry, i forgot tom post about it. I got it bend somewhat back into shape. Not perfect, but i think i will live with it so far.

I did a short fast hillclimbing, and while i can drive with the handlebar, it feels wrong driving normally, and even very wrong when i have to pull in the handlebar, because the part where i grib with my hands is not even and level.

I will probably buy a new handlebar eventually.

i was out riding 36 km today, and the handlebar didnt bother me as much as yesterday. Maybe i will give bending another try.

I found some bad trails with alot of snow/ice mix on the road, had to go real slow. I didnt slip though.

It got bent more. I will probably convert it into a sofrider style. Which parts do i need for the conversion?
