How heavy is it compared to a 2x?
I don't know. Heavier cassette, but one less chainring and no derailleur/cable/shifter.

You sent me down the rabbit hole for this one, Jond. I found this at cyclingtips:
"It’s commonly thought that chains have become less durable as extra cogs have been added to the rear cassette, but seemingly, that is a misconception.
With lessons learned in materials engineering, metal treatments and design, many 11-speed chains improved in durability over 10-speed chains, and it seems the same applies for certain brands of 12-speed chains, too."
Do you feel locked in to sram now.?
I would switch if given enough reason. I'm moderately satisfied now.
