Has anyone put an internal gear hub on a Cruzbike (Q45)?

I'm thinking of a Nexus or Alfine, although I'd like to hear of any such.

The 2021 Q45 uses thru-axles, which greatly limits the options to replace the derailleur. If you've converted one of those, I'd be very interested, but I expect a conversion to an earlier, quick-release fork is more likely.

If you've done this with another model, please tell me details: model, year, hub

Thanks,
Bret

I think I can offer 1 solution. It's not even QR but old fashioned bolts on the old V2k (Sofrider). It's the Sturmey-Archer 8-sp. I had a really quite good experience once I got comfortable with shifting (not on load, unlike a casette). It's probably the most IGH gear inches per £ or $ (315%), but you lose maybe 7-10% efficiency compared to a Rohloff. Plus you need to carefully consider your chainwheel. 1:1 on the SA is 1st gear. So for 26" wheels I needed a 33T up front and maybe it could have been 30 or 31, but SA also sell a sensible (cheap) chainring and matching cranks at 33T. The benefit is that you get max efficiency in the lowest gear so it's not all bad.

Here's a couple of pics and the build thread.

I have a QX100, not pictured in my profile. I use the Sturmey Archer CS-RK3. This is a "dual drive" hub. SRAM made the DD3 until 2014, when it was discontinued. The CS-RK3 is still in production. It allows for an 8 - 11 speed cassette with a 3 gear IGH. So, mated with my 44T single chainring, I get a 24 gears on my 8-speed cassette with very little overlap. The 3-speed IGH effectively gives me a 29-44-59T triple.
