I know that Cruzbike is offering some smoking deals on component packages to go with their bikes, but I have to mention this to any potential US builders.
I was in Costco last night and from force of habit, I had to check the bicycle aisle for anything decent. To my surprise and for the first time ever, I found a decent ROAD bike in Costco!!! It's a Diamondback Racing Podium 2. It's got Tiagra shifters/derailleurs, what looked to be a decent set of wheels and the best part is the price; $500! If you bought a fairly common frame size, you could probably turn around and sell the parts you didn't need. I would imagine the frame, stem, seat/seatpost and handlebar would recoup at least two hundred dollars, maybe more!
It must be a fairly new item and possibly not even in every store. I looked on the website and the bicycle is not yet listed, but they had four of them in my local store.
