I am running a Shimano 105 triple crankset with 18, 39 and 44 T chainrings. The 39 and 44 are Rotor Q rings and the 18 is a round one on a mountain tamer.
Notice the small difference from bigger (44) to medium (39) rings. The FD has to be one which the inner and outer cage plates are almost level, because of the small gap from 39 to 44, but must also reach the 18.
Better a top pull one, but even a bottom pull could be used with an adapter (www.speen.de umlenker).
Which FD is able to handle this 18x39x44 configuration?
Is it possible to increase a FD cage size to reach the 18? How is it done?
