Hi! New To Cruzbikes & Trying to Decide.

I don't have any experience with a Bachetta so I can't offer a fair comparison to my Q45, but my experience with the Cruzbike has been all positive. I was riding a LWB recumbent before getting the Q, and the difference is dramatic. Faster, climbs better, more comfortable. I believe the key to getting the hang of the steering is following the training plan as laid out on the website. In my first week, I never got out on the road. It was all figure 8's and practicing starts. I was a little tentative when I did get brave enough to try the road, but the lengthy practice I put in paid off.

I am up to 250 miles now on the Q, riding with clipless pedals, and enjoying it more every day.

My intent was not to compare the ride qualities of my Giro ATT20 with a CB, as they're obviously different platforms. I am saying they have about the same purpose. My Giro is meant to be a good quality touring bike, thus the stable "Cadillac" feel. You don't want the bike to be squirrelly fully loaded with gear going downhill.

As I mentioned, I'm an urban rider and ride for fun.

Just a thought...
A test ride on an older S30 is not going to be the same as riding a new Q45.
As an experiment, try lowering the seat angle on your Giro to match the S30 you test rode and go for a ride or two.
I found that it was easier to learn MBB steering than it was to adapt to the lower seat angle. If you were to get a Q45 the seat angle could be the same as you are used to on the giro and the bike is considerably easier to handle.
I'm not trying to talk you into anything, just more data makes it easier to make a decision, and this won't cost you anything.
