How About Offering A Road Component Pkg for the Quest?

Ok, I really like what Nanda has done with his Quest set up...road handlebars and components. It would really be nice to have two component offerings for this bike. I guess the limiting factor "might" be packability? But you could split the road handlebars, so they would fit nicely in a suitcase.

Just a thought!

Assuming Cruzbike doesn't

Assuming Cruzbike doesn't rush to put it out, it isn't that difficult a swap to do. I happen to like the standard Sofrider/Quest bars and setup (after adding trigger shifters). The issue I see is getting brifters (or even trigger shifters) to work with the dual drive...

Grip shifters and Dual Drive

I have Nazca recumbents with grip shifters paired with their Dual Drive hubs, which actually would be a better solution then the DD shifter on the Quests, with its bulky housing that hangs down low and protrudes into 75% of demo riders that sample a Quest. I've also seem grip shifters mounted on road bars that have clamps on the flats that can be loosened to allow the drops to be removed...very cool. The only issue would be bending out the drops to more of a cyclocross style like the CB or Gary bar to give more knee clearance. Avid road compatible disc brakes would be the last piece of this puzzle when paired with some aero brake levers.

No brifters that I know of.

No brifters that I know of. I was suggesting grip shifters on take-apart drop bars with aero levers (which are just roadie brake levers w/o any shifting function like SRAM S500 levers)

This is not the product I was thinking of originally (yet to locate it on the www) but could work:

Here is a photo I took of a rider in SF:

An interesting approach, doable for some riders.
