How Many Bikes Do You Own?

Decisions, Decisions......

Bacchetta TI Aero, sold....
CruzBike Silvio 1.0, sold....(kinda wish I had kept this one...)
CruzBike Silvio 2.0, awesome
CruzBike Vendetta 2.0, even more awesome....

Somehow, I accidentally ended up purchasing both a Vendetta and Silvio 2.0 when I "upgraded" from my Silvio 1.0. I really don't intend to keep both, since I can't really justify having both of the expensive bikes. I will probably sell the Vendetta, since the Silvio is more appropriate for my riding style, however it will be difficult giving up the speedy of the sexy Vendetta. Anyway, for now I have both.

Trek Soho - my towner bike. A

Trek Soho - my towner bike. A really nice, low maintenance bike w/Gates belt drive, 8 spd Shimano hub gears and roller brakes. I use it for my shopping expeditions with 2 really large Banjo Bros panniers and if it's a big load I'm hauling I can take my BOB trailer. I use it for short trips only as it gets uncomfortable when the ride is over 15 miles.

Lightning P-38 - until got my Silvio this was my favorite road bike. I still like it for it's comfort and heads up position but it just doesn't climb like my Silvio. I have a ZZipper fairing on it. When I ride it now it takes me a mile or so to get adjusted to the light steering as opposed to the MBB on the Silvio. I may end up selling this one.

An old GT Dyno - my previous town bike until I became infatuated with the Soho. 7 spd Shimano internal hub gears, canti brake front and roller brake rear and high rise handlebars. I keep it now as a loaner bike for when we have company.

My wife has a Bacchetta Giro 20, a new Breezer town bike and an old Specialized Stump Jumper. We share a Rans Screamer tandem that was our first recumbent. We last used the Screamer on a 9 day tour of Oregon in 2012. It's fun to ride with your partner but the Screamer is really slow uphill.

At the head of the class is my Silvio 2.0 with just under a thousand miles. I had never been on a MBB bike when I took a chance and purchased this. Now I wish I had an MBB bike that I could use for loaded touring. Neither the Quest nor the Sofrider seem to be up to task of carrying a touring load so I'm searching for a suitable rigid conversion frame. Or maybe I can figure out how to haul a touring load with the Silvio? We'll see.

Question about the P-38 that's bugged me

The Lightning P-38 name has intrigued me. Leyland produced the P-76 back in the '70's. It had the BMC 3.5 litre alloy V8 (originally bought off Pontiac and 'improved') and you could fit an entire 44 gallon drum in the boot/trunk (empty of course). Most people thought they were a big pile if junk and nicknamed them the P-38 because they handled and performed like they were a half baked British potato. Is this the same with the Lightning P-38?
