This may save your life and probably make rural rides less infuriating.
Put a small (maybe 6x9 inch) American flag on the back of your bike or fly one as your Cruzbike's flag. Trucker respect attained. Prepare to be treated like a human being.

The previous owner of my trike had stars and stripes flying. I'm not a flag guy, but I thought, "That can't hurt," so it's still there.
