Clearly I don't know the course. Endurance record riders obviously can recover quicker than most. I wonder how much that specualized bike cost... it was probably just built for him? Guess if you want to be as fast as Christoph you have to train up in the alps.
Pretty much all of the top racers had a high end disc wheel rear, 80 mm rim front, some had skin suits, aero helmets, etc. The frames are all stock. Molds are too expensive to do a one off. Marko was on a Trek this year.
Strasser's position looked perfect.....for a 40km TT. How he maintained it so low and flat and all turtled head/neck for 900+ KM is incredible. I hear he spent time in Specialized wind tunnel, it would be interesting to see what his results were. I would bet his CdA was better than most bent riders' CdA although few of us have been to a tunnel. (Chung's field testing is very sensitive and free). If RoJo can make that kind of power and IF he can get Larry-like aerodynamically, he could knock on the door of 600 miles in the right atmospheric and road conditions.
