After having just finished a few chores, Cindy mentioned that she saw a few recumbent bikes pass by.

There was my reason, my excuse to go for a ride.

The tires topped up and a bottle of cool water on board, I set off to search the local flat roads for my prey.
Dang, I thought... this is awesome! I sure am fast today!
About halfway into the ride, the reason for the speed boost occurred to me.
I'd left my helmet hanging on its wall peg and was just wearing the wicking skull cap!
No wonder.
The fastest helmet I have ever worn is -drum roll- no helmet at all.
Less frontal area, no doubt.
The recumbent riders? Never saw them.
But the V and I achieved a few personal best speeds on several roads...
and we'll get those recumbents some day.
Yes. Yes, we will.
