Looking good! Now, she just needs to shift down a little and crank up that cadence!

Had another warm pop

Had another warm pop yesterday where I think we set a record at 87F. Work is crazy but I managed to squeeze in a short, easy ride:

Boy is it flat where you

Boy is it flat where you live!

I clicked on your username instead of ride and thought, "Wow, 7,500 feet of climbing. That's quite a bit." But then I realized that was for 2014 and just shy of 1,000 miles. :D

Makes you want to ...

Eric needs to organize the first annual WinnRide; a cruzbike rally in the land of the level and lollipops.

I've been consider changing my strava sig image to show elevation in miles because that ft number is hard to grok it's so big.

So fricking proud

Forgot to update this. So Mrs Ratz did her first every Solo road ride; She got ten miles in with traffic and everything. She's fully adapted and now we'll start adding miles and speed. That last bike she road regularly was 18+ years ago; I put her time to acclimate to the Silvio at < 50 miles between the trainer and the parking lot. We're going to head of to a lake in the area that has a 2.5 mile loop with hills so she can work on speed this weekend. She reports that the bullhorn brifters are working great with no leg interference in the real world; but she does one me to bring the boom back about 1 inch closer to her shoulders

Hey Charles, the numbers are

Hey Charles, the numbers are a little deceptive. Over half of my miles so far are flat trainer miles.

7,478 feet elevation gain in 928.7 miles total for 2014 to date. I've been lazy and curtailed by weather, work, and my carpal tunnel flare-up.

0 feet elevation gain in 522 trainer miles.
4,382 feet elevation gain in 139 miles here. (6 outdoor rides so far, starting April 12).
2,980 feet elevation gain in 265 miles in Florida.
114 feet elevation gain in 2.6 miles in Durham. Actually kind of hilly right by the ELF production facility.

Some slight variances from rounding. I've also been avoiding my really hilly route that climbs about 234 feet in 2 miles.

Otherwise experimenting with keeping speed up as much as I can while climbing without sitting up if at all possible to see how that works when I get ready to try hitting my big hill...

Oh, and none of those miles is with my 39T ring. All in the 53T.

finally crossed the 400 mile line

Finally crossed 400 miles on the Silvio last night.
I do a lot better maintaining my line now (instead of barely maintaining my lane).
I still have to work on low speed maneuvers and high speed pedaling wobbles, but from 10-25mph, I'm very comfortable.
