Knee pain and bike fit

Found an interesting solution to the knee pain that I had developed on the Q45. I had been tiring the Ventisit pad but had a bit of recumbut so added a 1.5" foam pad. I had a bit of knee pain before the pad and had adjusted the boom to get the optimum fit. After adding the pad the recumbut was gone but the knee pain got worse and no amount of boom adjustment helped. I got to thinking that on my DF I would have moved he seat back a bit, an adjustment that's hard on recumbents. To get a similar adjustment I lowered the seat as much as my custom seat brackets allowed, went back to the thinner stock pad and added a 3/8" gel sheet cut to fit under the cover (overall lowering the seat ~1.25"). It seems to have cured both the recumbut and the Knee pain. I did order some 155 rotor cranks and Q rings to help with the knee issue, so we'll see what change that makes.

Any update on your knees
I've riden several hundred km on the 155 cranks and round ring and a couple hundred on an oval ring. The pain decreased markedly with the round ring and is almost gone with the oval ring. I really like the smother peddaling with the oval ring and ordered oval rings for my v20 build.
The shower cranks do require the use of a lower gear for hill climbing, but I can pedal at a higher cadence without wobbling with the oval ring.
