Mesh seat alternatives for Q45

Hi all,
I am looking for seat alternatives. Has anyone tried a mesh seat on their Q45? Where did you get it?
I am doing long rides (3-5 hours) in the heat and the stock seat does not have enough air circulation for my back. I am considering a mesh seat. I don’t find the ventisit(sp?) to be very comfortable.

Thanks for your ideas!!

I don't think a mesh seat will work very well with a Q45 - or really an Cruzbike (or FWD-MBB). The main reason I say this is that your body needs to have full contact with the seat and not move while you are riding. If you had a mesh seat - it would tend to move around some - and I understand that is probably why you want it.
But if you move around some, then I think it would really make the handling more fidgety and also probably not allow you to use your upper body for climbing and power.
I know Ventisit seat come in 2 different thicknesses, perhaps trying the thicker one, or even doubling up on the thinner one would resolve your issue. I do know that the Ventisit is a little rough on the skin and clothes if you are sliding in and out of the seat a lot - and I would never ride it without clothes on

I respectfully disagree about a mesh seat not working well on a Q45. I’ve put a few thousand miles on a mesh seat, mostly on a high racer and a few hundred miles on my Q45 and it works well and far more comfortable then the stock seat for me and installed fairly easily. The mesh on those seats is installed tight around the seat frame so there is no shifting or movement of the mesh itself or you for that matter. Is it as firm as a hard shell seat? Of course not, that’s why it’s so comfortable but it’s wrapped tight enough that you can push back into the seat for power. You can still engage your upper body with no issue. Since the Q’s number goal isn’t speed, a mesh seat works well, at least it does for me. I had a Thor with a thick Ventisit and though it was comfy, it is not as comfy as my Bacchetta B3 seat. (Plus the predrilled bottle cage holders on the back are great). My 2 cents, thanks.
