I'm riding the Mickelson Trail in South Dakota on my Q45. We're riding it both ways (Edgemont-Custer-Hill City-Deadwood). About 220 mi total.
My Q45 is perfect for this ride. The trail is so well maintained you could definitely ride an S40 too (although I would recommend gravel tires).
We also saw Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower, and Jewel Cave (we have a 'sag' car).
It's a great ride if any of you are interested.
