Wielder of the Rubber Mallet
It's almost warm enough outside to start looking forward to regular outdoor riding. This past Saturday I had the chance to do my first shake down ride of navigation upgrade. The result was a pleasant success out of the gate. The plan this summer is to ride a lot of new routes and avoid unnecessary Hmmmmm which way did he go moments. So when Garmin announced landscape mode for the Edge 1000 that seemed like it would be the ticket.
So here's the Silvio outfitted with the Garmin in landscape mode. (sorry no sunny day photos yet; still in the 40F's and dreary day in and day out.
Yes those are drop bar and not bullhorns. As I mentioned last season I was going to give both setups a full year of field tasking. I'm already missing the horns but that's a topic for a future post.
On the right hand brifter you'll notice an Edge remote. Which allows me to control the screens without reaching for the display. This works great when flying down a hill at 30 mph +
The screen is perfectly readable in daylight without the backlight (which had to be on for these photos).
The huge screen work great for putting up a ton of data (there are ten screens in total)
